About NSM

An independent, disabled veteran–owned security consulting practice focused on facts, operational risk, and defensible results.

Who We Are

NSM is an independent security consulting and training practice dedicated to managing real operational risk.

We conduct structured security assessments, incident reviews, and performance-based training development grounded in defensible analysis and practical corrective action. Our work is built to withstand scrutiny in the boardroom, the courtroom, or the field.

Backed by decades of law enforcement, military, corporate security, and academic experience, NSM operates with a clear mandate: protect people, strengthen organizational governance, and provide objective evaluation of operational risk.

About the PRINCIPAL

Robert A. Nordby, CPP, leads NSM. He is a disabled veteran, retired law enforcement supervisor, former enterprise security manager, and criminal justice professor.

His career spans military police service, municipal and state law enforcement leadership, corporate security governance, and higher education. A certified master instructor in defense and arrest tactics, he has trained law enforcement officers, security professionals, and organizational leaders in operational decision-making and performance standards.

What We Do

Incident Review & Structured Risk Analysis

NSM provides structured incident review and corporate fact-finding within the scope of independent security consulting engagements. These services support organizations and counsel when operational failures, misconduct, or security events create legal, regulatory, or reputational exposure.

Engagements are evidence-informed, methodical, and documented with long-term defensibility in mind.

Security Consulting & Operational Assessment

NSM delivers independent security consulting focused on performance, governance, and risk control. Services include physical security surveys, access control analysis and authorization review, policy evaluation, and enterprise security program assessment.

The objective is not appearances, but operational reliability and structural risk reduction.

Training & Performance Development

NSM develops and delivers real-world security training grounded in operational decision-making and defensible performance standards. Programs focus on use-of-force discipline, scenario-based response, supervisory readiness, and risk-informed security operations.

Training is built to improve judgment under pressure and strengthen organizational credibility.
