NSM - Security, Investigations, and Training

About NSM

A disabled-veteran–owned investigations, security, and training firm focused on facts, risk, and results.

Who We Are

NSM is a professional investigations, security consulting, and training firm that helps organizations manage real risk instead of imagined risk. We focus on clear facts, defensible analysis, and practical solutions that actually hold up in the real world: boardroom, courtroom, or field. Our work is grounded in decades of law-enforcement, military, and security experience, and driven by a simple idea: protect people, strengthen organizations, and tell the truth about what’s really going on.

About the Founder

NSM is led by Robert “Bob” Nordby, a disabled veteran, retired police officer, and experienced security professional. Bob’s background includes service in the U.S. Army, years on the road and in supervision in law enforcement, and later work as a master instructor in police tactics and use of force. He has trained officers, security professionals, and students in real-world decision-making, investigations, and safety.

He also served as a college criminal justice professor, teaching criminal investigations, criminology, and best practices in the justice system, which means he’s used to explaining complex issues in plain language that judges, juries, executives, and employees can understand. As a disabled-veteran owned business, NSM operates with a service mindset, discipline, and a very low tolerance for bullshit, especially when it comes to safety, policy, and the truth.

Our Values

Integrity: We tell you what the evidence actually shows, not what anyone wishes it showed.

Professionalism: Clear communication, solid documentation, and work that stands up under scrutiny.

Objectivity: No spin, no agenda. Just facts, analysis, and honest recommendations.

Service: As a disabled-veteran owned firm, we take the word “service” seriously.

Preparedness: We focus on prevention and readiness, not just reaction after something goes wrong
